Us at Rustic Raine Woodworks spend hours picking out the perfect/imperfect wood that is full of cracks, splits, knots, is warped, is slanted, and has the odd gap for your handcrafted items. We make sure that we take care of the wood that is used in our projects. All of our wood is kept in a climate controlled room and is left to completely dry for weeks to months before being used.

By nature, unsealed/salvaged wood planks may be somewhat uneven and may cup or bow over time due to changes in temperature or humidity. We believe that this ‘seasonal movement’ adds to the rustic look we love.

We often see magazines and showrooms FULL of these rustic products. Rows on rows of tables, coffee tables, beds, signs, you name it! Don’t get us wrong – they are BEAUTIFUL and they are RUSTIC….But most importantly they are CELEBRATED for their cracks, praised for their knots, loved for their splits, and purchased by people for THOUSANDS of dollars!

All of our items are hand sanded, hand stressed, and hand painted with meticulous care. Given their handmade natures, variations and imperfections in the wood are to be expected…not common but definitely a possibility…and are to be embraced.
